Spring has Sprung!
After a bout with the flu (thanks Noa & Sierra!!)...we headed out to enjoy a bit of spring weather this past weekend.
Darth is 25 weeks along...and making Mikaela's belly look like this:

WHOA!!
We took Darth to the Celtic Festival to explore his daddy-to-be's family heritage. Darth loved the bagpipe music, kicking along to the beat.
We saw a baby hairy coo

and
Darth tried on his first Buchannan clan tartan

Then we came home and gave Lukey his summer buzz cut!

Week 22...the Belly goes to a Museum!
First and foremost...the 22 weeky belly shot!
(You may be asking yourself "Why does Mikaela, who always has such a fabulous sense of fashion, always look like a bag lady in these pictures!??!" Well, I'll tell you. Belly shots are always taken first thing in the morning. It's a rule. "Why is that the rule?" you may ask. Well, I'll tell you that, too. It is a rule that all belly shots taken place in the morning because the belly still qualifies as 'cute' most mornings...but by the end of the day, it tends to look like a beast that is trying to take over the world. So, for your sake, as well as ours...we implemented the morning belly shot rule. Just picture that nice belly on Mikaela's regularly stylish self. Or you could photoshop...but I digress....)
This past weekend, we took the belly to the Port Discovery Museum at the Baltimore Harbor. It was a TON of fun for everybody involved--if you haven't been, we highly recommend you go (kids or not!).
Here are a alot of pics from the fun!
Thataway to Egypt!
Nick and Sierra did a rubbing of a hyroglyphic message
Boo!
We did shape sorting races!
We milked a cow
We climbed through a dark and scary drain...
We drew self portraits...
We played in and around water!
First, we suited up...
Then we dove in!
Suf's up!!
And finally...we dried off before heading out for lunch and naptime!
Fun was truly had by all!!

Happy Birthday to Us!!
Before we get into the Bday festivities...here is your 20 week (yes, HALFWAY THERE!!!) Belly Shot!
Over the weekend, Sue and John Clark threw us a 29th Bday fiesta, complete with an egg hunt for all the little ones! Here are some pics from the fabulous event!
Yummy Darth cake (Thanks mom!)!
Hart got to hold baby Isabella (Erin & Jonny's 7 week old)...while Sierra snuggled up!

Trying to line up a bunch of ladies, some toddlers, and a kindergartner is like herding cats! 1-2-3 SMILE!
Nick recovered this morning by using his new Keurig coffee maker. YUM!

Darth is a...
BABY!!!
We had our 3rd sonogram today. The BEST news is that Darth is just perfect. He has 10 fingers and 10 toes, 2 eyes, 2 ears, working kidneys, a 4 chamber heart that is pumping blood, and a nice big brain!! Darth weighs 10 oz--right on track! We both still think that Darth is a boy...but we didn't ask, and the doctor didn't give any clues!
The bad news is that we didn't get any 3D pictures of Darth this time. But we DID get to watch him stick his tongue out at us, do a little dance (stomping on Mommy's bladder--YOWSA!), and end his little bit with a full headstand!
Here are our grainy pics from the day!
Darth's face (picture it smooshed against a window)

Darth's hands (right hand in a little fist, left hand waving)

Our tech had a foot fetish...3 little pics of Darth's little foosies!

And finally...the headstand!

17 Weeks!!
Hello loyal fans.
Last night we took Darth out for his first night on the town. Mikaela was on the Decorating Committee for the United Way's annual Mardi Gras event. This is a HUGE event, attended by all of the movers and shakers in southern Maryland.
It was a fabulous night out, our first since finding out about little Darth. HUGE thanks to our neighbor, Andrea, who rebuilt one of Mikaela's old dresses to fit the growing belly!!

Here we are with the crazy stilt dancer!

And, without further ado...here is the 17 week belly shot! Looks like Darth is growing big and strong! Or at least big and round!!

15 weeks and a family hike!
Hello friends and family!
Here is your 15 week belly shot...please excuse the crazy hair and crazier 'outfit'!

We all had a great week. We had another doc appt. and everything still looks great! Darth's heartbeat is very strong, and he appears to be growing perfectly! We go back in 2 weeks for some standards tests, and then 2 weeks after that we get our next ultrasound! I've been able to feel some wiggling around--at least I think so!! Darth is clearly going to be a soccer player, just like mommy!
With the weather 'warming' up, we decided to head out for a long hike today at one of our favorite summertime places-- Flagponds Nature Park .
Lukey had a fabulous time, even though we thought it was too cold to let him swim!
Here are the boys at the start of the first trail

And the view of the Bay from the top of our hike

Lukey tried to figure out how to take a shortcut (down a cliff) to get to the water ASAP...we did some negotiating before we continued on our way.

At the bottom of the trail there was a little observation station, we watched a beautiful swan fishing on the pond

Some more fun shots from the day!

We came home, with one VERY sleepy Du!

If you come visit this summer, we promise to take you for this beautiful hike (in the summer time there is the added excitement of a jumping frog path!) and a dip in the Bay to cool off!

Belly Shots
We are 13.5 weeks...and it appears that Darth Feto is ready to make his presence known! So I present to you...BELLY SHOTS!!

Meet Darth Feto, Darklord of the Womb!
Well, some of you may be wondering what Nick and I have been up to the past few months...I'll tell you, we've been busy growing THIS:

Meet Darth Feto--our baby-to-be!
We expect his/her arrival in early August (so far we have had 4 doctor appts, and been given 3 different due dates--but our favorite due date is 8/8/08 for obvious coolness reasons!)
So far we've seen and heard a beautifully strong heartbeat. Watched the little guy wiggle all over in a 4-D sonogram--and its been amazing!
To answer a few questions:
1. We don't plan on finding out the sex
2. We both feel like it is a boy, hence we refer to it as 'he', but we will be thrilled either way
3. We have names picked out, but arent sharing. They are celtic names, and that will be your only clue
4. We have no idea what we plan to do in the nursery, but it will involve a large doggy bed for Lukey
5. And finally...belly shots will follow shortly!!
